Borrow and Give
He did not have his own bed.
In a borrowed manger he laid his little head.
He did not have his own bank account.
The five loaves of bread and two fish were from a lad.
He did not have his own pulpit.
From the small boat, wilderness were His message heard.
He did not have his own car.
Jerusalem saw His entry on someone’s colt.
He did not have his own house.
In a friend’s house was where the last supper held.
He did not have any valuables left behind.
Before dying his beloved mother to his disciple gave.
He did not have his own tomb.
In a wealthy man’s tomb was His body laid to rest.
Alas! Jesus did not have anything on earth.
But was He truly broke?
Behold, All things were created by Him and belong to Him.
Borrowing-because he forsaking everything,
Giving-because this is his whole life.
